Kampf to Introduce Bill to Apportion Casino Money to Tredyffrin Township
6/20/2012
HARRISBURG -- Rep. Warren Kampf (R-Chester/Montgomery) has announced he will introduce legislation to reallocate a portion of the gaming revenue dedicated to Upper Merion Township to Tredyffrin Township.

“I am deeply concerned that the recent opening of the Valley Forge Resort and Casino will have impact on neighboring Tredyffin Township,” Kampf said.

While the casino will be located in Upper Merion Township, Tredyffrin Township is immediately adjacent to the new facility. Representative Kampf met with constituents, local officials and community groups who shared his concern that Tredyffrin would see a stark increase in traffic and other burdens associated with gaming facilities.

“The cost of hosting this casino will not stop at the border of Upper Merion Township,” Kampf said. “My legislation will make sure Tredyffrin Township is compensated for any costs associated with the casino's impact on roads, infrastructure and public safety.”

Kampf is currently crafting the legislation which will soon be introduced to the House.
